KAWS Holiday Changbai Mountain Art Exhibit China

After a 2021 year full of solo exhibitions at the Brooklyn Museum and the Mori Art Center Gallery in Tokyo, KAWS is back with the eighth stop of its “KAWS: HOLIDAY” tour, this time landing at Changbai Mountain in Jilin Province, China.

Installation Jilin reveals two KAWS ‘Companion’ sculptures nestled atop the region’s snow-capped mountain peaks, offering a cinematic art view much like his previous stops in Taipei, Hong Kong, Mt. An exclusive capsule collection of limited edition items includes reusable hand warmers specially designed to combat the freezing cold of the mountains, a limited edition snow globe decoration and an 8.5 inch “COMPANION” figure in the boxes. brown, black and snow white colors. Speaking about the new art installation, KAWS said, “This place in Changbai Mountain is such an amazing environment and it is an honor to have the opportunity to show my work here.”

The Changbai Mountain Exhibition will be open to the public from January 7 to 16 at the Changbaishan Luneng Resort, Manjiang City, Fusong County, Baishan City, Jilin Province, People’s Republic of China. Collectibles in the exhibit will be sold exclusively in the DDT Shop on January 7 at 10 p.m. ET and January 8 at 11 a.m. HKT, with items shipping in March.
